You will find descriptions below of each of the international ministries
that are partners with Front Street. Throughout the year,
there will be many opportunities to get on mission with these
organizations.
The International
Mission Board
The International Mission Board
(formerly Foreign Mission Board) is an entity of the Southern
Baptist Convention, the nation's largest evangelical denomination,
claiming more than 40,000 churches with nearly 16 million members.
The board's main objective is presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ
in order to lead individuals to saving faith in Him and result in
church-planting movements among all the peoples of the world. Almost
5,000 people groups - 1.6 billion people - still live with little or
no access to the Gospel.
The Putrakuls are New Tribes
missionaries to Cambodia. They live in Phnom Penh and help
coordinate New Tribes operations in Cambodia. Kit also works
at a medical clinic, sharing Christ's love through meeting people's
physical needs. Front Street is the sending church for the
Putrakuls.
Hearts of Love is an international
missions organization that has several ministries reaching the world
and mobilizing the church. Among them are a mentoring ministry
for pastors in developing countries and several ministries to
orphans.
Our missions partner serves in an area
without the religious freedom we enjoy in the US.
SCORE International
SCORE International is a ministry to
engage people in short term missions. The purpose of SCORE
International is to Evangelize, Encourage missionaries, and Equip
participants to do the work of foreign missions. Their goal is to
produce career missionaries and create greater partnerships between
local churches in the USA and foreign missionaries.
The mission of The Gideons
International is to win the lost for Christ through the distribution
of Scripture in selected streams of life. Gideons have placed or
distributed more than 1.3 billion complete Bibles and New Testaments
in more than 180 countries around the world . . . so far.
Our church will be receiving an
offering to sponsor a village in Bihar, India, providing a well,
literacy training, a bicycle for a church planter, Bibles, hymnals,
and a medical clinic. Further, we will pay the salary of a
church planter to reach this village and others.
Operation Christmas Child brings joy
and hope to children in desperate situations around the world
through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love.
Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed,
shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be
involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on
the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
